Crashing Dr. Nelson's Classes

If you're interested in crashing one of my classes, it's possible. I do take a few
crashers each semester. The best thing to do, if a course is closed, is to
see me during my office hours--to
ask me to put your name on a crash list. At my
discretion, I typically sign in several (not many)
crashers at the beginning of the first class of the
semester, according to the order on the crash list.
If you email me about crashing, make sure you tell me
the course number, day, and time of the class you want. Also, if
it's an upper division course, indicate whether or not you have met the
prerequisites, if any are specified in the USD
Undergraduate
Bulletin. For example, the prerequisite for THRS 312 (Hindu Faith
and Practice) is THRS 110 or 112.
If I put you on a crash list, make sure you come to
the first class on time, since I admit crashers first thing on the first day
of class.
NOTE: Another thing to do, for any course you want that is closed, is to check
frequently with the registrar's office and ask them to look in the computer to see whether
anyone has dropped. If there's a space in the computer, students may grab it on a
first-come, first-served basis.
