There is a large and vibrant Indo-American community in San Diego, many members of which are Hindu. There are also a fair number of Americans from other ethnic backgrounds who have an interest in Hindu spirituality. Hence, there are several interesting places to visit for students wishing to see varied aspects of Hinduism in practice. Below is a list of temples and other sites that have agreed to welcome USD students who are interested in learning more about how Hindu traditions are celebrated in the San Diego area.. Students planning visits should remember that they are guests. This means that they should check to confirm that the day and time of their visit is suitable and make special efforts to make sure that they and any companions observe dress codes and etiquette guidelines.
