Loer Lab Protocols
Here you will find a number of protocols and other informative documents we use in the Loer Lab; I will add more as I find time. Many are extremely detailed, and especially for C. elegans beginnners. Being at a primarily undergraduate, teaching institution, my lab is populated almost exclusively by undergraduate research students. For want of a better descriptor, I have termed these documents "Undergraduate Protocols," to indicate that they take little prior lab or worm experience for granted. As such, some protocols also have Loer lab-specific instructions that will not be useful to others; you may of course modify them for your particular purpose.
Protocols lacking specific references are derived from well-known worm culturing techniques which tend to vary slightly from lab to lab. Published references containing C. elegans techniques include:
