Boalt Hall has rescended its policy of adjusting applicant Grade Point Averages. The former policy typically reduced the GPA of California State University applicants by .2 while applicants of typically small private schools had their GPA raised by .2. This "adjustment" profoundly impacted the admissions outcome.
Boalt Hall has also rescended giving weight to low socioeconomic status. The reason given was that it did more to boost the chances of poor whites and Asians than Lations and blacks! The quest for a proxy for race continues.

Applicants are refusing to answer the racial checkboxes in ever increasing numbers. There were 539 applicants who declined to answer the race question on their application. Of these, 91 were accepted.
There are no interviews for Boalt Hall and no attempt is made to verify the racial checkboxes selected by applicants. A comparison of the racial profile of applicants as shown on the Law School Admission Test and the Boalt Hall applicant suggests applicants are choosing one race on the exam and another on the application.
Attending a California public university greatly diminishes ones chances of acceptance.
