The UC Davis Medical School Dean is an outspoken advocate of race based admissions, "inclusion',"diversity" and the like. His daughter graduated from medical school in May.
A recent UC Davis study claims that students accepted under affirmative action programs who had profoundly lower academic backgrounds achieved the same degree of "success in their practices" as did those admitted by rigorous academic standards. If this is true then why are such academic standards applied at all and why aren't all individuals judged by the same standards.
Even before considering grades and MCAT scores the probability of this many Black/Hispanic acceptances given the number that applied is about .002. When academic preparation is included the chances will decrease dramatically below even this number.
Is it a surprise that the Bakke case came out of UC Davis Medical School practices?
