Author: Guiard of Laon (d. 1248)Paris, c. 1221-1238

Dating: Guiard was chaplain to the bishop of Laon in 1212; archdeacon of Troyes from 1215 to 1221 then a canon of Notre Dame in Paris. He became chancellor of the University of Paris in 1237 and Bishop of Cambrai in 1238. He died in 1248 shortly after entering the Cistercians.
