Author: Nicholas of Amiens

Dating: Nicholas was a student of Gilbert of La Porrée. A letter of Alexander III dated 1161 thanks Nicholas for his services and another by the same pontiff dated 1169 recommends Nicolas as a candidate for the see of Amiens. The Ars fidei is Nicholas' only undisputed work.
