Dating: Richard was a student of Robert Bacon and joined the Dominicans at Oxford c. 1240. In 1244, he became the first Dominican doctor of theology at Oxford. Robert Grosseteste opposed Richard's practice of lecturing on the Sentences of Peter Lombard.
