Author: Richard of Saint-Laurent
Dating: According to Soligny, the only reliable information on Richard describes him as a canon in the cathedral church of Rouen. A visit from the bishop of Rouen to the chapter of Andelys in 1245 cites Richard as a witness. He probably came from St. Laurent in Picardy, but nothing else of his background in known.
Works:
De charitate et aliis virtutibus: Unedited, see Soligny for MSS
De laudibus Beatae Virginis Maria: Often edited, and frequently mistakenly ascribed. The most reliable edition appears to be that of Jean Bogard in 1625 (Douai and Anvers). For a list of editions, see Soligny
Sermones: Four of the eight sermons ascribed to Richard were edited by Bogard with the De laudibus. For details, see Soligny
