Author: Robert Kilwardby, O.P. (b. c. 1215, d. 1279) Master of Arts, Paris 1237-45; Theology, Oxford 1252-1261

Dating: Robert was a student of arts in Paris after 1231, and was Master of Arts there from 1237 to 1245. Sometime after 1250, he joined the Dominicans while in Oxford. Robert lectured on the Sentences in Oxford 1252-4 and became a Master in Theology in 1256. Schenk would date the commentary on the fourth book of the Sentences c. 1260, so after Robert became a Master. In 1261, Robert became the Provincial of the English Dominicans. In 1272,he became Archbishop of Canterbury and in 1278, Cardinal of Porto. He died in 1279 in Orvieto.
