BAILIFF FOR TOURNAMENTS
1L's are invited to get involved in oral advocacy by serving as bailiffs for Moot Court tournaments. Bailiffs keep time during oral argument and assist judges in the courtroom. It's a great opportunity for 1L's to learn about appellate advocacy and meet members of the local bar!
APPLY FOR THE ASSOCIATE BOARD
In the Spring the Moot Court Board selects 1L's to serve on the following year's associate moot court board. The associate board, along with the executive board, works to host tournaments and promote appellate advocacy at USD. Associate moot court board members hone their appellate advocacy skills by competing in at least two intramural tournaments during their second year.
