Mission Statement

The Appellate Moot Board at the University of San Diego School of Law is dedicated to fostering the development of appellate advocacy skills among our law students.  The Board's mission is an amalgam of academic rigor and professional training.

The Board is responsible for developing and maintaining the Law School's reputation for excellence in appellate advocacy training among the professional and academic communities.  Toward these goals, the Board administers three intramural competitions during the academic year.  The Board also hosts teams from all over the country in a national interscholastic competition in criminal procedural law.  Finally, the Board sponsors a national team composed of students who have demonstrated excellence in oral advocacy and academic achievement.  Each year, the national team represents USD in several interscholastic tournaments hosted by other institutions.

The Appellate Moot Court Board endeavors to substantially contribute to the overall reputation of the University of San Diego School of Law by maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and professional decorum.
