MullerCD

With its modern premiere ofXII Sonatas by Jean Michel Muller (1683-1743),Toutes Suites revisits one of the favorite ensembles of the Baroque period, the Hautbois Band. The Band here includes a concertante oboe, two tutti oboes, a taille (tenor oboe), a bassoon, and Basso Continuo of harpsichord, viola da gamba, and violone.

These 12 "concerti grossi" survive in a single print from 1710. Evidently the only surviving secular instrumental music byMuller, they present an eclectic mix of national styles and genres and a most colorful tapestry of sound.

Recorded June 2007 in Hamburg,
