of chapter 5 in the book to remind yourself of some of the basic ideas.

Use pictorial
representations to prove the properties of addition and multiplication on page
201.
·
What can be done
to an equation and insure that the resulting equation is equivalent to the
original?

Write some

· Please write on the top
right-hand of your homework how long you spent on this homework—writing your
pen-pal letter, reading and solving problems.
· Look at the handout “One
Equals Zero” from class. Explain what
was done incorrectly that led to the conclusion 1=0.
