and 6.2 of the textbook.

when introducing fractions? (Look at
both sections: 6.1 and 6.2.)

Why are fraction
strips useful when introducing fractions?

Describe the
different models for representing fractions.

What is the key
principle of fraction addition?

State and explain
the three rules of fractions introduced in these sections.
·
What are some
common student errors when working with fractions?
·
For each
interpretation of each operation we have learned (see handout given a few weeks
ago in class), write a word problem that makes sense when using fractions.
·
Write some
comments and questions on these sections.
Homework Assignment:
Sets: 24#1,2,5,6,7 and 25#1,3,4,8.

Start reading the rest of chapter 6 and working on exercises, if you have
time.
