3.2 and 3.3 of the textbook in preparation for class.

algorithm?

Write down a
complete step-by-step justification of the addition 754+173 using the addition
algorithm (you may use the any-order property of addition).

What do you
understand about the lattice addition algorithm?
·
How is the
traditional subtraction algorithm similar to the traditional addition
algorithm?
·
What is needed to
justify our traditional multiplication algorithm?
·
Explain why our
multiplication algorithm works. Include
a pictorial representation in your explanation.
·
What is the best
teaching sequence for the multiplication algorithm?
·
What do you
understand about the lattice multiplication algorithm?
·
Write some
comments and questions on these sections.
Homework Assignment:

Please write on the top right-hand of your homework how long you spent on
this homework.

Homework Set 10 (p.62): #1-5
·
Homework Set 11 (p.65): #1-8
·
Homework Set 12 (pp.70-71), #1-8.
·
Bring the Midterm evaluation.
·
Start writing correct solutions for any exam problems for which you did
not get full credit (will be due on Thursday).
