Yellow Jackets

Yellow jackets have yellow and black markings and look very much like a hornet. The only major difference is their size. Yellow jackets are usually smaller than hornet. Their colonies can contain up to 5,000 workers. They live mostly in North America and sometimes they can be found in the Southern States and extremely dry regions. Unlike bees, yellow jackets nest in the ground, building walls and rock crevices. They are more dangerous than bees, because they can sting repeatedly, where as bees can only sting once.
