Before your Golden Retriever comes home, buy a crate at least 24" wide X 27" high X 30" deep. Provide meals and treats to the dog inside the crate. Always take the puppy out right after it eats. Drape an old blanket ove the top and side of to make it cave-like, especially at night. Line the crate floor with paper and provide the dog a towel or baby blanket. Leave a dish of water in it at all times.

Golden Retrievers can easily be trained to go to the bathroom anywhere you want. They will remember to wait to go outside if you keep taking them outside for bathroom purposes. This helps prevent pee stains in your home and certain places in the yard.
