Brief History

British writer,Alan Alexander Milne began work on a collection of verses for children. His first book, When We Were Very Young, was published in 1924 with the illustration of Ernest H. Shepard. Because of the overwhelming demand, he published Winnie-the Pooh in 1926. It was a big success for them, and they published a collection in 1928 that consists of four books including two new stories, The House At Pooh Corner and Now We Are Six. In the years since their initial publication, interest in these books has grown and grown selling more than 20 million copies. Winnie-the Pooh has appeared not only in books but on a wide range of items, from pottery to postage stamps, bookends to bed linens. He has starred in videos, on radio, and on the stage.
