First Lab will be held Wednesday, September 5

The Bio 376 lab manual and "Notesketch" lab notebook will be available for purchase in lab on Wed, Sept. 5. The first lab handout will be provided in class on that same morning, so that you may come prepared. Also read the reserve reading material: "How cells are studied," in Alberts et al., Molecular Biology of the Cell, 3rd Edition, pp 139-148; and viewing the microscopy material on the CD-ROM Vade Mecum (packaged with the textbook). [Copies of "How cells are studied" will also be available to read in lab.] Look at the list of materials you need for lab in the syllabus; it is not essential to have these for first lab, but definitely get them as soon as possible. You will need them for lab on Wed., Sept 12. You will conclude the first lab by taking a quiz on microscopy, including material from the assigned reading.
