Eight years ago, Laurelle agreed to illegally marry Thomas so that he could stay in the US with Tony.  In the end, it was too risky to commit marriage fraud.  The three of them decided not to do it.

Now,  Laurelle talks about how her life turned out, having found a partner and moved away from California herself.  She reflects on how things would have been different if she and Thomas and Tony had gone through with it.
