Instructions for Summer 2012

1. Get your card coded by going to the office of Starla Tudor, the building manager. She already has your information so your card just needs to be swiped  and you will then have access to my lab (ST335), the computer room (ST383) and the student room (ST460).

2. If you don't have one, make yourself a South Park Avatar (with white background) and upload it (see note in the Forum as to how to do this). Then send me a jpeg file so I can use it for Research Group presentations.

3. Browse the "WebPublish" Wiki. It has all sorts of useful information you will need for your projects - Unix, how to use Jaguar, Spartan, and more.

4. Feel free to use the "Lists" section to keep track of your project. It helps you and it helps me.

5. Progress Reports should be uploaded to the Files Section every Friday. Due dates are posted in the group calendar.

6. At the end of June you will compile a Final Report. If you've taken the time to write good Progress Reports, you'll mostly cut and paste and add in some text to string things together into a coherent story.

P.S. The more time you spend on research, you get to push the research project forward. With sufficient progress, your research may even be publishable in a journal and/or you may have the opportunity to present a poster or give a talk at a conference.
