During the growing season the leaf began to produce what appeared to be axial bulbils (below) at a node, distal to a point where the leaf had been damaged. Bulbils appeared at several nodes and were removed when the leaf died back beyond the points where they had formed. The viability of these bulbils hasn't been established yet.
