- Why is it that one can see all the different colors at once?
Is what one observes in this experiment any different than what one
would see if one observed a single, isolated atom? Explain.
- The bright yellow line in the Na spectrum is actually two very
close
lines (589.6 nm and 589.0 nm). In our experiment, what do calculate
the angular separation to be, and does the diffraction grating have
sufficient
spectral resolution to make the separation between the two lines apparent?
