Questions:

  1. Why must electric field lines cut equipotential contours at right angles? Why must electric field lines terminate on conductors (ideally any way, when all electric charges are in static equilibrium) in a direction normal to the surface of the conductor?

  2. Do equipotential lines have a direction just as electric field lines do?

  3. Do any of the Electric Field patterns resemble patterns found in the text? Are the electrode geometries similar in those cases? Explain.
