Questions

1. Make sketches of the interference or diffraction patterns that you observed and discuss the similarities between them. Discuss too, to what extent were diffraction effects (what are they, anyway) visible in the three patterns, and to what extent they (diffraction effects) are expected to be visible in each.

2. Why is the formula for the maxima created by the diffraction grating identical to the formula for the that of the double slit? What good does it do to have many slits?
