Part C - RLC Resonance

Set up a series RLC circuit by inserting an inductor in series with the resistor and capacitor, in between the resistor and capacitor. The capacitor should be connected to the ground side of the oscillator output. Connect the oscilloscope to measure the voltage across the capacitor-inductor series combination. The Capacitor should again be .01 microfarad, and the resistor 5000 ohms. The inductor is about 4 millihenries (it may be marked). The oscillator should be set for sine-wave output.

Observe the voltage across the CL combination as the oscillator frequency is varied. Find the frequency at which the voltage across the CL series combination is a minimum. This is the resonant frequency of the circuit. Measure the voltage across the CL combination for frequencies between one-half and twice the resonant frequency and describe the frequency dependence of the capacitor voltage near resonance.
