Problem-solving is one of the keys to mastering organic chemistry. Be sure to work out all of the suggested problems. Work problems out BEFORE looking at the solution. You must avoid the temptation of looking at the answers too early! You ruin the problem for yourself if you give up on it too soon. If your answer disagrees with the solution, don't automatically assume that you are wrong - some problems have more than one correct answer. Check with me to resolve any discrepancies.
If
you are struggling with end-of-the-chapter problems, I highly suggest
that you work problems within the text of the chapter AS you are reading
the chapter. This serves as a speed bump and helps to ensure that
you understand one topic before you move on to another topic. |
